Not going to be a former theatre kid on anyone's watch
Ok, I wrote this post about being a “Former Theatre Kid”.
And boy, did that get a response from people.
Within five minutes of hitting “publish”, I had a friend reach out and tell me that I didn’t have to be a former theatre kid anymore. That, should I ever feel the need, I had a theatre I could work with at any moment.
I don’t have to move.
I don’t have to prove my skill the first week in the shop.
I don’t have to worry about if its the right choice or not.
It’s friends making art.
It’s friends calling me back into the groove.
Its friends and people who care enough about me to not let me be a former theatre kid anymore.
The people who care will see and say “oh no, not on my watch.”
Anyhow, I’m going to change my TikTok bio now.
Thank you for not letting me wallow in my self pity.
Here’s my whole take simplified: there are people out there who care about you. You don’t have to give up anything. Be yourself.
